Remember last week when I said me and my son would would find another day to check out the library? Well, this past Friday was that day. We ended up going there in the morning for "super hero story time". It was amazing! Basically, kids between the ages of 0-4 yrs old were invited along with their parents to come enjoy story time dressed up as their favorite super hero. (The little squirt went as superman)
The stories were read by a real-live Librarian, Miss Jill (I know, I didn't know we still had them either). That day's theme was super heroes, and the main attraction was the book Do Super heroes Have Teddy Bears? (Click Here) After reading, it was time for the kids to embellish their costumes with a mask to make it even more personal.
My little guy went to work right away on his costume. he colored and glued, folded and cut, until his mask was just the way he wanted it to be; I was so proud of him. If you ask me, I think his mask and costume were the best out of the bunch.
Shortly after all the kids finished their masks, it was time for a super hero obstacle course. Personally I didn't think my little guy would go for this one as he's usually shy, but to my surprise he was all over this one. There was just one caveat though, "dad" had to do it too (lucky me). I went along and encouraged him through the various stations while the crowd of kids and adults cheered him on (I on the other-hand was out of breath and probably on the verge of passing out). he really loved all the attention as he was the last one through the course.
All-in-all, this was a great day and I look forward to more like this.
